WHERE DID THIS COME FROM?
"Sink or Swim" started from the idea of a push–pull dynamic in a relationship — that feeling of wanting connection while also feeling like life and emotions are pulling you in different directions.
But as I continued creating it, I realized it became bigger than just a relationship. It’s really about resilience. Life doesn’t always wait until you feel healed or ready. Sometimes you have to keep moving anyway.
I think everyone can relate to that feeling — standing at a crossroads and deciding whether to stay stuck or keep going. That's what "Sink or Swim" means to me.
Maybe healing begins the moment you stop fighting the current.

Produced with Chin Injeti in Vancouver. From the beginning, we were completely aligned in both the writing process and the sonic direction. Once we landed on the concept, everything flowed organically from there.

Jaclyn Gee is a Canadian singer-songwriter creating emotionally driven music that blends cinematic pop with influences across alternative, indie, and atmospheric soundscapes. As an independent artist, entrepreneur, and single mother of two boys, she channels real-life experiences into deeply personal music that resonates with listeners navigating change, longing, healing, and growth.
Music has long been woven into her story. She is the great-granddaughter of Fred M. Gee — a pioneering Canadian musician who founded Winnipeg’s influential Celebrity Concert Series in 1927, helping establish the city as a destination for live performance and contributing to the growth of Canada’s cultural landscape. Inspired by that legacy, Jaclyn continues the tradition through contemporary songwriting and visual storytelling.
Drawing from themes of love, resilience, motherhood, heartbreak, and transformation, her work combines haunting melodies, emotionally charged lyrics, and modern production. Influenced by ocean landscapes, nostalgia, and dreamlike imagery, her music translates naturally into film, television, and emotionally led storytelling spaces. She has performed throughout Canada and internationally, and is currently expanding into sync licensing and visual storytelling.
